Content

- Fundamental theoretical aspects of the integration: political theories (funcionalism, federalism, communication theory, neo-functionalism), economic theories (liberalism, institutionalism).
- Integration processes, regionalism and global society. Relationship bethween the integration and unification.
- Genesis of the ideas of European integration from the perspective of its goals: integration for securing peace; integration as supranationality for the sake of collective secutiry; integration as precondition for free trade and market; integration from the viewpoint of functionalism – institutional federalism; integration to keep the European supremacy over the world.
- Concrete initiatives for the European integration in the second half of the 20th century: Establishment of the Paneuropean Union (1923); Briand Memorandum (1930); international organizations right after the second world war.
- Schuman proposal to build a new Europe (May 9 1950). European Coal and Steel Community + EURATOM + European economic community + European Community = European Union (integration processes are not upgrading but synergistically cumulating.
- Bodies and institutions of the EU. Politics of hte European Union. European model of society. Values and goals of the EU. Treaty for the establishment of the European Constitution.
- Republic of Slovenia in the EU.
