
Centre ensures the quality pedagogical education of teachers of all educational stages and provides different forms of advanced training, with the intention of enabling graduates to continuously improve in all of the Faculty's fields of study.
It is the central Slovenian institution that develops a complete infrastructure for attaining, examining, and certifying proficiency in Slovene as a second/foreign language.
The Centre operates under the auspices of the Department of Slovene Studies at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. Its activities are arranged in eight specific programmes.

Language courses and other seminars
In the 2019/2020 the Faculty of Arts offers courses in a total of 28 classical and modern languages: English, Arabic, Bulgarian, Czech, French, Croatian, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Latin, Hungarian, Macedonian, German, Dutch, New Greek. , Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Serbian, Ancient Greek, Ancient Indian (Sanskrit), Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.
